Rangi will eat that cake over there

te ___ nei, te ___ nā, te ___ rā

Te reo Māori has demonstratives that "this", "that", "these" and "those":

tēnei - this near me
tēnā - that near you
tērā - that over there

ēnei - these near me
ēnā - those near you
ērā - those over there

For example:

He pai tēnei keke.
This cake is good.

He pai ēnei keke.
These cakes are good.

There is an alternative way to say the same thing:

te... nei - this near me
te... nā - that near you
te... rā - that over there

ngā... nei - these near me
ngā... nā - those near you
ngā rā - those over there

For example:

He pai te keke nei.
This cake is good.

He pai ngā keke nei.
These cakes are good.
